Announcing our 60th Anniversary Celebratory Auction Thursday May 28th at the historic Mermaid Inn

An appeal for donations of artworks from artists, friends and supporters of

Rye Art Gallery

In 2025 we celebrated sixty years since the first exhibition was staged at the gallery, featuring at that time the paintings of our founder Mary and her

husband Howard Stormont.

As a key part of our continued fundraising approach we are in the process of organising a celebratory auction. The aim is to offer for sale 60 selected works. All money raised from this auction sale will go directly to our restoration fund. 

All proceeds from the auction are ring-fenced to be used for our continued program of building restoration works and to support the conservation of the works held in our collection.

We are therefore asking all our artists, friends, and supporters to consider donating one or two artworks suitable for this charity auction. The reason we ask for these as donations is because, in this instance, there will be no VAT payable and all proceeds gained from the auction will go direct to the

charitable trust.
